We commemorate Armen Pamboukian this month, a truly special individual who Vanina has had the pleasure of working with for the past 5 years. Armen began his individual career as a cobbler almost 28 years ago at the age of 31. Before that, he would spend his days learning and perfecting his craftsmanship at his brother’s factory. During this time, Armen became an expert in his field, specialising in using exotic skins and moulding them into beautiful shoes that women would come to covet. When asked about any words of wisdom Armen left behind, his son Raffi was quick to answer: ‘My father wanted me to understand the intricacies of the business and not just the general scope. He guided me through each step from pattern making to production, and most importantly, how to treat our customers’.
Raffi, who plans on carrying on the family business, possesses the same spirit his father once did. ‘Everything motivates me, especially if I succeed at doing what my customer wants, meaning bringing life to their own design’.
May Armen’s soul rest in peace.
